Educated in University of Hertfordshire (LLB) and Nottingham Trent University (BPTC), Miss Ling is also qualified as Barrister-at-Law and was called to the English Bar in 2012 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. She was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2013 upon completion of pupillage under one of Malaysia’s leading lawyer, Datuk Wong Kian Kheong’s firm Messrs Wong Kian Kheong who is now serving as an Honourable High Court Judge in the High Court of Malaya. She has been practising as Advocate & Solicitor since 2013.
After her pupillage, she was previously with Messrs. The Chambers of Kamarul Hisham & Hasnal Rezua, serving as a Legal Associate to Datuk Kamarul Hisham Kamaruddin, assisting Datuk Kamarul in a number of high-profile cases as abovementioned.
Thereafter, she was employed by Messrs L P Gee & Co. as a Legal Assistant and was given the opportunity to handle the firm’s matters as Counsel, ranging from civil litigation, family disputes, strata management and conveyancing.
An experienced litigator where during her years of practice, she has appeared as Counsel for the Appellant representing Ken Holdings Bhd in the suit filed by Sazean Holdings Sdn Bhd in matters related to caveatable interest and injunction application, and acted for Northport (Malaysia) Bhd, and etc. She also handled trials and appeals and is experienced in all types of claims related to strata management disputes, debt-recovery, corporate risk managements & governance, contentious land disputes.
In view of her expertise in civil litigation and corporate restructuring services, Miss Ling is also involved in vetting and drafting corporate & franchise agreements ie, for Subway Malaysia in order to maximise advantage and reduce risks in potential corporate disputes. Ms Ling is also panel lawyer for Vipod Residences, adviser for Fairlane Residences, handling all legal disputes arising under the strata management.
She is also well versed in the area of sale and purchase of real estate having been engaged to review, draft and prepare sale and purchase and loan agreements for individual purchasers, companies and banks as the Firm is on the ad hoc panel for Public Bank Berhad, CIMB Bank & UOB Bank.
